ALDOT Duncan Bridge Condition Assessment (2019 – 2020)
Strinteg was contracted by The Alabama Department of Transportation to perform a condition assessment of the Duncan Bridge in Winston County, Alabama. This two-lane, five span bridge includes a three-span continuous Warren through truss spanning 961 feet over the Smith Lake Reservoir. Strinteg’s engineers performed a rehabilitation level (hands-on) inspection of the bridge utilizing aerial lift equipment and industrial climbing techniques. Submerged approximately 130′ in water, the river piers were assessed by a sub-provider, Collins Engineers, utilizing acoustic imaging equipment. A detailed inspection report with maintenance and rehabilitation recommendations was submitted, along with a refined load rating to account for as-inspected conditions.
