Responsibilities will include:
- Assist in the review of existing bridge file documentation, plans, and analyses.
- Assist during field inspections and create reports to present findings and recommendations.
- Perform structural analyses to determine safe load carrying capacities.
- Assist in the development of bridge rehabilitation design, plans, and specifications.
- Enrolled in an accredited engineering program pursuing degree in civil/structural engineering.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly related to technical topics.
- Physically capable of performing all field work tasks, including climbing, carrying heavy equipment, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (structural focus) in pursuit of a master’s degree.
- Willing to travel for up to 2 weeks at a time during internship, nationally.
- Engineer-in-training certification with ability to obtain professional licensure within four years.
- Working knowledge of bridge analysis software and Microstation/AutoCAD.

- Two (2) years of relevant experience with at least one year performing bridge inspections.
- Certified rope access technician through the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT).
- Working knowledge of bridge analysis software and Microstation/AutoCAD.

- Four (4) years of relevant experience performing bridge inspections.
- Certified rope access technician through the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT).
- Working knowledge of bridge analysis software and Microstation/AutoCAD.
Responsibilities will include:

- Serve as project manager, task leader, lead bridge inspector, and review reports to present findings and recommendations.
- Serve as project manager and engineer-of-record for structural analyses to determine safe load carrying capacities.
- Serve as project manager and engineer-of-record for bridge rehabilitation projects.
- Perform construction engineering services.
- Professional engineer certification with ability to obtain licensure in other states through comity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly related to technical topics.
- Willing to travel up to 25% of the time, nationally.
- Physically capable of performing all field tasks, including climbing, carrying heavy equipment, etc.
- FHWA Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges NHI-130055 Course.
- FHWA Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges NHI-130078 Course.
- FHWA Bridge Inspection Refresher Training NHI-130053 Course (taken within the last 4 years).
- Eight (8) years of relevant experience performing bridge inspections, with at least six (6) inspecting complex structures.
- Certified rope access technician through the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT).
- Working knowledge of bridge analysis software and Microstation/AutoCAD.
