ALDOT Rehabilitation of the Delta River Bridges (2012 – 2015)

Our team member experience includes providing engineering services for the special member and fracture critical inspection and rehabilitation of the signature Delta River Crossing Bridges in Mobile, Alabama. The parallel structures carry I-65 six miles over the Mobile River Delta, and each consists of two-lane structures totaling 342 spans of stringer-floorbeam-girder superstructures and one main river crossing tied-arch spanning 800 feet over the Delta River.

Our firm houses the lead inspector for the 2012 inspection of both bridges and the engineer-of-record for a $10M rehabilitation contract completed in 2015. Work included repairs to primary elements and installation of preventative measures to extend the service life of the structures. Construction engineering services were provided to ensure repairs were completed with consideration to the design intent.
