TxDOT Statewide Routine Bridge Inspections (2019 – Present)
Since 2019, Strinteg has provided statewide routine bridge inspection services for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) on a work authorization basis over consecutive four-year contracts. Services are provided for districts throughout the state in both on- and off-system settings, often requiring element-level reporting. Services include reviewing previous inspection reports, completing a hands-on inspection, preparing bridge inspection reports within AssetWise, identifying the condition evaluation of structures, and updating the various bridge files based upon inspection findings. Load ratings are reviewed, updated, and modified to incorporate as-inspected conditions, special hauling vehicles (SHVs), and emergency vehicle (EV) configurations. The project consists of inspecting numerous structure types, including multi-AASHTO beam bridges, culverts, deck and through trusses, steel multi-girder bridges, and high-level interchange structures. Conservatively, work through this contract averages over 1,000 bridge inspections per year.
As part of this contract, Strinteg has received special assignments to perform over 75 load ratings of complex curved I-girder and tub girder superstructures throughout the State.
