Douglas brings over 11 years of continuous experience providing bridge inspection, load rating, analysis, and rehabilitation services to clients throughout the country. He has served as lead inspector for numerous high-profile bridge projects of varying sizes and structure types, including long-span cable-stayed, high level steel girder, suspension, segmental box girder, complex truss, rail, and movable (lift, swing, bascule) bridges – often requiring rope access and industrial climbing techniques. Doug has served as rope access supervisor or rope access lead technician on numerous jobs requiring hands-on access to critical areas of bridges. He is a Level III Rope Access Supervisor certified through the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT). Doug is also a remote drone pilot certified through the Federal Aviation Administration to operate small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS). In addition to inspection, he has performed numerous bridge load ratings and served as lead engineer for the analysis of complex truss and concrete spandrel arch bridges. Doug has utilized field experience to develop plans for several bridge repair and rehabilitation projects involving complex structures and problematic details.
Doug was recently promoted to serve as Strinteg’s Top Engineering Executive due to his heavy involvement in ongoing inspection, load rating, and rehabilitation design projects around the country. He also oversees our rope access and drone programs and serves as task leader for various statewide bridge inspection contracts involving up to 150 bridge inspections per month.
