Jake has over 4 years of experience in bridge inspection, evaluation, maintenance, and rehabilitation design. He has served as task leader for the Texas Statewide Routine Bridge Inspection project as well as the lead bridge inspector or inspection team member for routine and non-redundant steel tension member (NSTM) inspections. Structures have consisted of various sizes and types including steel girder, suspension, prestressed and post tensioned concrete beam, cable-stayed, and truss. During Jake’s 1,000+ structural bridge inspections and 250+ culvert inspections to date, he has routinely performed non-destructive tests including ultrasonic, dye penetrant, and magnetic particle. His rehabilitation efforts have ranged from recommendations for preventative maintenance to design of retrofits for NSTMs. Jake is a Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) certified Level 1 rope access inspector and has performed numerous structural inspections requiring technical climbing techniques.
